1940 Buick Special Coupe

An “Above Average” almost completely original example of old school style and quality. The only deviation from original are custom made, bolt on mounts for air shocks on rear to improve ride and handling. Older paint job that’s showing some wear. Body is straight. It’s a solid 20 foot car. Interior is clean with heat shield/sound deadening on front floor boards and new carpet.

This 1940 Model 46 is powered by an in-line 8 cylinder Dynaflash engine backed by a 3-speed manual transmission. Options on this 1940 Buick Special Model 46 for sale include: AM Radio, Cloth Interior and Wide White Wall Tires wrapped around Steel Wheels with Hub Caps. This 1940 Buick is offered for sale with less than 10,000 miles since the restoration. The classic also received a new clutch, throw-out bearing, electric fuel pump, gas lines, brake lines/hoses, wheel cylinder/springs/hoses and a master cylinder at the time of restoration. The transmission, oil pump, starter and generator were also rebuilt at the time of restoration. A carburetor overhaul has just been completed and a half inch buffer pad/heat shield installed. This is a very fine example of a hard to find 1940 Model 46. The classic is very original and offers a step starter and “three-on-the-tree” 3-speed manual transmission. The car runs and drives great. The engine is very quiet and smooth. Custom fabricated bolt on mounts and air shocks were added for a more comfortable ride. If you are looking for a rare Buick that is period correct then your search is over!
